One milliliter (mL) equals one cubic centimeter (cm³) exactly. This makes conversion simple: if you calculate cylinder volume in cm³, the number is the same in mL.
This relationship exists because the milliliter was defined as the volume of 1 cm³ of water. So a cylinder with r = 2 cm and h = 5 cm has V = π × 4 × 5 = 62.83 cm³ = 62.83 mL.
Small Cylinders in Milliliters
